Bodhi's first ball game

Surprisingly, he did really well. We stayed from the first to the seventh inning. He was fascinated by all the people and the action and forced himself to stay awake the whole time. He loved when people cheered (even for the opposing team) and loved when everyone sang "Take me out to the ball game." Too bad we left before the Nationals had a chance to rally n the 9th and we lost anyway, 10-6.

4 weeks!

HOLY CRAP! HE IS 4 WEEKS OLD!
i remember labor like it was yesterday but the last 4 weeks are a blur. I am just tired and exhausted and tired. It is quite a ride and I am SO GRATEFUL for my friends who spend time with me and bodhi. Without them, I would be drowning in depression.

Here are some pics...

He's here...

So the stinker arrived at 3:01 am Monday morning 3/9/09. He is wonderful but my exhaustion is unreal. No one could every prep you for this. The world exists in 3 hour clumps, and I am lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep a night. I'm impressed I get a shower everyday, but it is definitely a challenge. More later, after a few hours of sleep...

3 days to go!

So of course my due date is just 72 hours away but reality is another story. Who knows when he will come. Only he does. Hopefully, he will be gentle and kind and come quick fast and easily!

I just wanted to provide a shout out to some great people who have worked with me throughout this pregnancy to make this a great 9 months.

Debra Russo Houri
my nutritionist: http://www.debrahouri-nutritionist.com/
She has been a great asset to keep the baby healthy and to keep me active and happy. I have not had any morning sickness nor any complications and my vitamins and all my health needs have been met.

Unity Woods Yoga/ Lori
http://www.unitywoods.com/
yoga keeps me active and supple and Lori has been a great teacher who gives my pregnancy body the movement and stretches it needs. I highly recommend staying active keeping up with physical activities like yoga to be most able in your late stages of pregnancy.

Mernon Grant/ ALG FITNESS PERSONAL TRAINING
trkhd@aol.com
I met with my personal trainer two times a week to keep fit and trim. He rocks and knows what he is doing. The more active, the better the pregnancy and hopefully birth.

Nicole Jolle: http://bellybirthservicesllc.com/
Great doula/midwife: 703-489-2585 She has tons of alternative ideas. She is reassuring, calming and very knowledgable of what I needed. I was only going to hire her for consultation but she worked out so well with me and my team that I want her at the birth!

Pregnancy Chiropractor: Erica Statman, D.C..
Maimonides Chiropractic 11194 Lee Highway Fairfax, VA 22030 703-383-1630
She helped turn my baby around when he was frank breach! She has a non-conventional family practice but knows what she is doing.

Sports Injury Clinic: Accupuncture
4600 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 703-461-7109
Accupuncture was great. They were part of the team to turn the baby around. They have been great to eliminate stress, eliminate allergies and back pain. I have used these guys for years and they are wonderful.

And just in case you wanted to see a last picture of Bodhi before he comes out, here is his head, and the biggest cheeks you have ever seen!

6 weeks left

I can hardly believe bodhi's due date is 6 weeks from now. I have been putting off so much reading and trying to enjoy each day as it comes, but now the time is near. It is amazing how much energy and anxiety goes into "gameday" but I guess that is what birth is nowadays.

Next week I have a doc appt and hopefully I will get one more sonogram to determine what size bodhi is in my belly. I had a midwife friend check me out and she says he is head down and not too big... I guess I can only blame the ice cream on my size!

I have been given lots of advice recently. One is to get a doula for after the baby is born just to help me out and to give some guidance and reassurance.

Another piece of advice is to OVER register for items on the baby registries since the big companies give out 20% off coupons after your shower dates ... and you know I love a bargain! (so don't feel obliged to buy me 3 packs of 152 count diapers!)

I also added a few ideas to my registry that are more pertinent than just "things." For example, my masseuse is now on the registry, and I can have a massage instead of a swaddler... Ingrid is amazing and I recommend her to anyone! (703-901-0662) The Doula also has a gift certificate available and you can buy time for me with her. And of course one of my favorite gifts is signing up to buy dinner and bring it over and spend time with me and the boy. Nice alternative options if anyone was looking.

More to come soon.
